Instructions For How To Jailbreak Your Amazon Fire TV Stick
Step 1.) Install The Downloader Application
From the Amazon home screen. Scroll over and select the magnifying glass.
Use the virtual keyboard to search for the Downloader application. Then scroll through the list and select the Downloader app.
Look under “Apps & Games”. Then Select the Downloader app.
Install the Downloader app.
Wait for the app to be installed
After the Downloader app is installed, click the “Home Button” on your remote and return to the Amazon home screen.
Step 2.) Enable Developer Options and Modify Permission Settings
From the Amazon home screen scroll over and select the “gear icon” to access the device’s “Settings“.
Select “My Fire TV”.
Click on the “Fire TV Stick” option 7 times. You will see a message at the bottom of the screen letting you know how many steps (clicks) away you are from unlocking the Developer mode.
After the Developer Mode has been activated; you will see a message at the bottom of the screen that says “No need, you are a developer.”
When you see this message, click the back button on your remote to return to the previous screen.
Scroll down and select “Developer Options”.
Turn On “ADB Debugging“.
Scroll down and select “Install unknown apps”.
Click on Downloader to toggle the virtual switch from “OFF” to “On”.
This will allow the Downloader app to install other applications that are not from the Amazon Appstore.
After you’ve turned on permission for the Downloader app to install other apps, click the “Home Button” on your remote and return to the Amazon home screen.
Step 3.) Open The Downloader App & Sideload Your 3rd Party Apps
From the home screen, scroll over to the “Applications Icon”. Then select “My Apps”.
Select and open the Downloader app.
Click Ok to close the Quick Start Guide.
Click the URL Search Box.
Enter the URL (web address) for the website you are going to download your app from and then Select Go.
In this example, you would scroll through the list and Select an app to install.
When you reach the download page for the application you want to install, search for and select the “Download Link” to download the app’s APK file (APK stands for Android Package Kit).
After the apk file has finished downloading, your device should automatically open an installation page. Scroll to the bottom of the installation page and select “Install”.
After the application has been installed on your device, open it up and enjoy.
